Herbal Medicine
I was officially introduced to medicinal herbs by my midwives when I was 19 and I never looked back! But herbs have always been a part of my life since, when I was growing up in France, I was often given vervain or chamomile tea before bedtime, and we used to pick fresh spearmint or thyme to make after-dinner tea, and wildcraft our dinner herbs from the garden every summer in Provence. I have developed my knowledge over the years, by reading and studying many herbal books and while working in a health and wellness store in 1999 and at Victoria’s oldest herbal dispensary in 2009 and again in 2012. I have also garnered a lot of experience with cleansing protocols, the anti-candida diet, and some supplements like enzymes and green superfoods.
I do not claim to be a “master herbalist” but I have close to 40 years’ experience working with our plant allies on the ground as it were and I have developed what I call the first aid kit to deal with such issues as digestive troubles, insomnia, joint pain, hormonal imbalance, and more. I can also advise on herbs to take as tonics and to build immunity, as well as offer herbal products like salves, toothpaste and deoderant. My knowledge is mainly centered on the Western herbs of Europe and America, with some connection with Asian and Indian herbs.
